Taking Trees to Braintree

Turfing and trees for a brand new multi-million-pound residential care home in Braintree, Essex.

The £8.4 million care home project that was awarded to Horizon Construction has been developed to provide quality accommodation for up to seventy-five residents. It will be Avery Healthcare’s first care home in the Essex area. The home is set within grounds that we had the pleasure of transforming.

Following the securing of the project by our contracts manager Michal Kurek, our teams worked diligently to complete all tasks within the agreed period.

Our team were on site for just four weeks and installed:

  • 871 metres of turfing (70m of which was WFT34)
  • 36 trees.

WFT34 is the shortened name for ‘Wildflower Turf’s Landscape 34’ product.

We have a partnership with Wildflower Turf having used their products on several projects. Their unique soil-less system is weed-suppressing, easy to handle, and delivers a guaranteed wildflower environment every time. The turf is laid differently to normal turf – a process that our foremen are trained in, with two members of the team also being accredited installers.

The success of the project and the day-to-day management reflects the hard work put in by our foreman Marcin Jankowski and the talented soft landscapers.

Memorable Memorial Gardens

Landscaped gardens at a brand-new memorial park and crematorium in Faversham.

Late last year, contractors WWMartin were awarded the Design & Build contract for a brand-new crematorium facility located in woodland on the outskirts of Faversham, Kent.

Our Business Development Manager Jackie Hynes managed to secure the soft landscaping works with us starting activities on site in February 2023. We are pleased to say we have finished on schedule. This is thanks to the hard work of the team who were on site and our foreman Oleg Medulics who managed the project from start to finish.

Another larger project, with the installation works consisting of:

  • 217 trees
  • Over 4,000 ornamental shrubs
  • Over 3,000 native hedgerow plants
  • Over 1,000 bulbs
  • Over 3,000m of turf
  • Aquatic plants to the ponds

The new Memoria Faversham & Mid Kent Memorial Park & Crematorium offers cremation facilities and the Garden of Remembrance which we helped bring to fruition. The site boasts manicured gardens and relaxing country views in a beautifully landscaped setting.

We are pleased to have been able to meet the vision set out by the client. To discuss similar and other soft landscaping projects with our team, or to obtain a quotation, please contact us.

Completing the Crematorium

Preparing for the Queen’s Platinum Celebration

Further to our previous post, we have completed the works at the South Oxfordshire Crematorium. We are now in the 12-month maintenance phase, where we nurture and care for the plants and other landscaping.

Working with Beard Construction, we have planted over 1000 shrubs, 77 trees, many many bulbs, ornamental hedging plus undertaken turfing and mulching.

Our ongoing maintenance programme means that the new memorial garden, which has been created as part of the project, will be looking very smart for the official unveiling day on the 2nd July as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The garden will be fully open to the local public for the day.  There will be live contemporary music from the Sullivan’s sounds and a summer buffet with beverages and wine will be available.

We are very pleased to have been part of this project, working with Beard. To partner with Panoramic for your next soft landscaping project, please contact us.

Taking Care at the Crematorium

Working with Beard Construction, we recently completed soft landscaping works at the South Oxford Crematorium. The project constituted extending the current gardens and was the first of this kind for us, as we were carrying out works in an active crematorium.

The conditions posed a unique challenge and required us to adapt our site work and deliveries so as to not disrupt ongoing services. Operating at an active crematorium came with several unexpected hurdles. However, thanks to the help of Beard and the patience of the client, we were able to overcome these as a team and learn valuable lessons along the way.

The project included the planting of 77 trees, ornamental hedging, over 1,000 shrubs and bulbs, 1,160m² of turfing plus mulching. The work was undertaken over four months and we are now beginning our usual twelve-month period of maintenance.

Keep an eye open for new posts about this site once our planting has had time to establish and flourish!  To discuss how we can take care of your next soft landscaping project please contact us.

On Station At Battersea

Power Planting

We recently completed a project at Battersea for Blu 3 as part of the Battersea Power Station regeneration.

Having stood derelict for many years the power station and surrounding area is undergoing a £9 billion transformation. The new development includes offices, retail and residential plus a new underground station for easy access.

We planted 21 trees and 1,200 plants. The project included the supply and spread of sub and topsoil. Also the installation of structural cells, irrigation, anchor system and root barrier to the tree pits, in which we planted 16 x 45-50cm girth Quercus Palustris and 5 x Betula Utilis Jacquemontii trees at the entrance of the development.

We completed the job in July and have now commenced our ongoing maintenance package to maintain the site over the next 12 months.

Panoramic Projects: Powering Forward

Since the start of the new year, Panoramic has gone from strength to strength securing 29 new projects in the first quarter. We have welcomed many more new clients and continued to build relationships with existing customers.

Whilst orders in January and February totalled £900K, March has been Panoramic’s best-ever month by some margin, with sales just shy of £800K in the one month alone.

Some new clients that have joined us and are yet to receive a mention include Burmor Construction, Breheny, Lawrence Baker, Iconic Build and Midas. Meanwhile, clients such as Bowmer & Kirkland, PDR, ESS Modular and Harmonix are placing regular projects with us. Thank you.

As a result, the summer is going to be very busy for Panoramic and we cannot wait to get planting. The whole team is looking forward to working with all those who have both given us an opportunity for the first time and those that have returned with repeat orders.

Please get in touch to see what we can achieve when landscaping your construction project!
